Chocolate Cake With Chocolate Glaze

Both of my daughters had to submit chocolate recipes for a 5th grade mothers day cookbook project. there were a lot of really good ones, but my favorite ended up being two separate recipes that i combined and then added my own touches to. you might think this is way too runny to work, but it ends up wonderful!!

Steps

For the cake: preheat oven to 350 and spray a 9x13 inch cake pan with nonstick spray like pam.
Mix all ingredients except the boiling water together in a large bowl at medium speed for about 2 minutes or until well mixed , then add the boiling water and stir just until well blended.
Pour into cake pan and bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let cool completely , then pour on the glaze.
For the glaze: in a saucepan , combine the sugar , cocoa , cornstarch , and water until smooth.
Bring to a boil over medium heat , stirring constantly.
Cook and stir for 1-2 minutes or until thickened.
Remove from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla until the glaze is smooth.
Cool to lukewarm.
Stir , then spread over top of the cake.
Let stand until set.
Refrigerate leftovers.
