Barbecued Fried Chicken
This is a great make ahead recipe, and reheats well in the microwave.
Steps
For barbecue sauce , combine catsup , water , onion , garlic , one teaspoon salt and pepper in medium saucepan.
Bring to boil.
Reduce heat.
Simmer 20 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Stir in lemon juice.
Combine flour and one teaspoon salt in paper or plastic bag.
Add a few pieces of chicken at a time.
Shake to coat.
Heat crisco to 365f in electric skillet or on medium-high heat in large heavy skillet.
Fry chicken until tender.
Turn chicken frequently.
Pour sauce over chicken.
Cover.
Simmer 35 to 40 minutes or until tender.
Turn chicken frequently.
