Cheesy Ham Bacon Chowder


This is a wonderful, cold day, fill me up, warm all over chowder. I found this recipe in one of my favorite cookbooks

Steps


In a large soup kettle , fry bacon until crisp.
Remove bacon , dice and set aside.
Saute the onion and carrots in reserved bacon drippings until tender.
Stir in flour until blended.
Gradually add milk and water.
Bring to a boil.
Cook and stir for 2 minutes.
Add potatoes , corn , bouillon and pepper.
Reduce heat.
Simmer , uncovered , for 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
Add cheese and ham.
Heat until cheese is melted.
Stir in diced bacon.
