Breakfast Smoothie


When i became diabetic, i needed to work out a satisfying breakfast that wouldn't tax my blood sugar. follow the smoothie with one piece of whole-grain bread and 1 tbs reduced fat, natural style peanut butter (i use smucker's). you can't go wrong.

Steps


Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
Experiment with yougurt-berry combinations.
I use mixed berries , blueberries , or rasberries regularly.
I also mix up the yougurt flavors to keep from getting boring.
This is also great with the following substitutions.
1 / 2 teaspoon almond extract for the vanilla.
8 ounces frozen peaches for the berries.
Approximate diabetic exchanges:.
2 dairy.
2 fruit.
1 fat.
1 carbohydrate.
