Blueberry Batter Cake

Favorite recipe from my childhood. wonderful with fresh michigan blueberries. the cooking directions might seem a little unusual, but the end result is a very crispy topped cake. trust me, it's worth it!!!!

Steps

Line a well greased 8x8x2 pan with berries.
Sprinkle with lemon juice.
Cream together 1 / 2 cup sugar and butter.
Add milk , flour , baking powder and salt.
Pour over berries.
Combine sugar , cornstarch and salt.
Sprinkle evenly over top of cake.
Pour boiling water over all.
Bake 45 minute to 1 hour at 375degrees until light brown.
You can use any fruit.
Peaches and strawberries are also wonderful.
