Swedish Dried Fruit Cream
This recipe was found in the 1973 cookbook, scandinavian cooking. Preparation time does not include time needed to chill.
Steps
In a small saucepan , simmer fruit in water until tender , about 15 minutes.
Stir in sugar & mace.
Mix cornstarch with cold water , then add it to the fruit mixture.
Cook over medium heat until thickened , stirring constantly , but carefully to avoid breaking up the fruit.
Chill for at least 1 hour before serving cold , as is.
With cream.
Or over a custard or pudding.
