Quaker Punch

Quakers abhor violence, and many abjure alcohol, although most believe in 'temperance' rather than 'abstinence'. However, they have no objections to double entendres. This is a lovely, refreshing summer time drink. I made it by the gallon for an august wedding last year and it was a big hit.

Steps

Bruise the mint.
Add the ginger and teabags.
Pour over the boiling water , cover and steep for 6 or 7 minutes.
Strain and discard the solids.
Meanwhile , heat the remaining water and sugar just until the sugar is dissolved.
Mix with the tea brew.
Add the juice of the lemons and oranges , and strain.
Serve chilled , over ice.
